About the module

If you like to create and change reality, then you are in the right place. An innovation designer is a specialist who leads teams and organizations from where they are now to where they should be in the future. Designing innovations is a creative field of study, but also a demanding one, requiring high and diverse skills. It is a comprehensive field of knowledge that conjures up new products and services, new business models and organizational solutions. This is an area of ​​activity that deals with materializing the future and making dreams come true. As part of this module, you will learn the principles of designer work in accordance with the Design Thinking and User Experience methodology. You will learn to look at products through users’ eyes and discover their hidden needs and expectations. You will learn how to design business models and manage innovative projects in the agile methodology.

Your education path

In order to obtain a BA diploma you need at least 184 ECTS.

In your first year you take obligatory courses and later, starting with the third semester (that is your second year), you choose what you want to study. How? It is easy. Choose at least one module (formerly called a specialty) which is most interesting for you and then continue along  the chosen path till the end of your studies. If you wish, you can take next modules or individual subjects- including those from other fields of study. All modules you complete will be visible on your diploma.

Agile approach to product and service development
5 ECTS
We will equip you with comprehensive tools that will allow you to better understand and manage the process of creating innovation. You will learn rapid prototyping methods and creative problem solving techniques. You will also learn more about Design Thinking and User Experience.
Business model of an innovative enterprise
5 ECTS
One of the key issues in creating innovation is implementation and scalability. Otherwise, innovation remains only an idea. That is why it is so important to think about your innovative project in terms of a business model. During the class, you will learn how to design business models that create and deliver true value to the customer.
Project
5 ECTS
The project integrates in a practical context all the knowledge and skills provided by expert courses within the selected module. As part of the project, you will create your own “real” project to prove that you have acquired expert knowledge and skills related to this module.
Introduction to Design Thinking and User Experience
5 ECTS
Design Thinking is an approach to creating innovations that integrate human needs with the benefits offered by new technologies, as well as with success factors in business. Mastering this process will allow you to take full advantage of creative thinking in creating innovation. Many well-known companies use Design Thinking in their daily work, including Accenture, BMW, Google and IBM.
Qualitative research
5 ECTS
During this course, you will learn the basic principles of qualitative research conducted to understand consumer behavior. You will learn about various qualitative research methods, including in-depth interviews, observational methods and ethnographic research. You will learn how to collect qualitative data, analyze and interpret research results.

We strongly recommend you choose the High-Tech Marketing module after you complete the Design Thinking module. By selecting this option, you can be sure that your schedule won't include classes conducted at the same time. In another way, you may need to attend classes with different groups to avoid overlaps.
