We have just started the new academic year at the WSEI! On the 3rd of October we held a ceremonial inauguration and we were honored not only by students, but also by representatives of companies and institutions affiliated with us.
During the ceremony we summarized the previous year, but above all we welcomed new students. New students were officially welcomed by out Rector – Stanislaw Kowalski, PhD and Artur Górka, PhD – the president of the Association of Accountants in Poland, a branch in Krakow, which is a partner of our Finance and Accounting study program.
We also distinguished students for their last year’s achievements. The Professor Aleksander Kowalski’ prize for the best graduates received Aneta Polańska – a graduate of Management and Michał Teodorowicz-Wilga – a graduate of the Computer Science and Econometrics.
Winners of the Professor Andrzej Adamczyk’s prize – dedicated for students who showed a huge commitment to the activities of the student and university community, including for contribution to the development of the Technology Park – were: Maggie Bartnik, Michał Piątkowski, and Karin Asatryan.
The inaugural lecture titled „21st century – times of too accurate information” was delivered to us by Krzysztof Krej – CEO of Empyrean, an enthusiast and expert in the computer games market. We will make available this fascinating lecture online soon!
We also gratefully received congratulatory letters from the Rector of the Cracow University of Technology prof. dr. hab. Eng. Jan Kazior, Rector of the University of Economics in Kraków prof. UEK dr. hab. Andrzej Chochół, the chairwoman of the Małopolska Regional Assembly of Urszula Nowogórska, Member of the European Parliament Róża Thun and Member of Parliament, Marek Sowa.
We congratulate all the winners and wish them continued success and undying passion. We wish all members and friends of our academic community fruitful next months! Let the time for holidays pass quickly but creatively.
